I'd like to be able to call the UK free or at least have the option to have a UK Virtual number. 2cents a minute isn't much but mobile calling is nearly 17cents a minute and that takes a bite out of my wallet. (especially when it's free with the other guys ;) )
by the way, why is it that calling to a mobile phone is so much more expensive?
Google is your friend!
Why are your mobile rates higher?
In most countries around the world, mobile phone users are not charged to recieve incoming calls. What this means is that it then falls on the person calling that mobile to pay the charges. This is known as "calling party pays". This is the reason why calling a mobile is more often than not more expensive than calling a landline - and unfortunately its the same with all calling cards!

^^that makes sense. but still, they pay a montly fee for phone service just like i do and my incoming call eats up their minutes...
does net calling via messengers work as well as they say it does?

i just reread this thread. i wonder... was 'google is your friend' a tiny slam from a moderator for my asking what appeared to be a 'stupid' question?
interesting...
I was just letting you know where I had found the answer.
Some might consider it a tiny slam, others might consider it a way of documenting my source so it's not plagiarism.
