View Full Version : "Simple" or "slim" version of control panel for handheld devices

Hello,

It would be really nice to have a "slim" version of the control panel, where there would be no page header, or side columns, just the "middle" portion of the page. And instead of fancy graphics laid out with CSS, it should be a simple list of links but maintaining the organization. For example:

-Account Information
--Change Password
--Billing Manager
--...etc...
-Voicemail / Call access
--...etc...
-..etc..

Obviously the "..etc.."'s would be the remaining menu options, and not something literal.

This would allow people with handheld devices, such as Palms or Blackberries with internet plans, to change phone options remotely.

This can be done with a separate url (perhaps wapcp.viatalk.com) or by using the same URL but examining the user's agent (browser string) to see if it's a handheld agent and returning the appropriate version of the control panel.

Thank you again for listening...

Hello,

I've just reviewed the "feature list" and saw this wasn't included (at least, not as a name I recognized) so I just wanted to "bump" this thread so it showed up in the current topics list and not forgotten about. :)

I'd have alot of use for that. My 6700 acts weird when I open the control panel.

its a pain to browse the current CP with my BB 8800. At least I can play the .wav file vm attachments.

I have a phone with mobile web so i know what you are referring to, but I dont know if its possible with our control panel. This will be discussed and we'll get back to you on feasibility.

I second this vote. Something that looks pretty on my BlackBerry would be really cool.
