I have Fios and use the Verizon.net email account (at times). I have noticed and reported that any voicemails being sent to this account never reach me. Verizon must be blocking it.

I am in the technology field and did some research and found that potenitaly a form can be filled out with Verizon to remove ViaTalk from a block list - if this is the problem.

For me it is not a major problem since I have other email addresses I can use for the voicemails to be sent to. However, I would like to try and find out if any progress has been made with Verizon on the email issues?

Thanks and to date this has been great service. I personally have signed up about 16 individuals - all have been happy (but there were a few glitches with some of them)

One of my clients also has Verizon FiOS as an ISP. He too has noticed a problem with his Voice Mail from ViaTalk coming to his email account in a reasonable time. Not all come through and those that do seem to have about 8-12 hour lag time. We plan to contact Verizon to discuss the problem. Will advise. TinFoot

I have been working with ViaTalk and Verizon and we still do not have an answer. If you find something, please post it so we can get this resolved

I had my own domain and have worked it all through there. Everything is working now. I did, however speak with Verizon again and they admitted that there was something going on with there mail servers. Since then this has been resolved and emails work. However, sometimes you may not get the voicemail email until 12 to 24 hours later.

So I agree - it is best to use your own domain, if possible

I've come to use gmail quite a bit. Nice that you can access gmail through Outlook (or other e-mail app). It's also nice that I can have it retain my e-mail on gmail even after I have downloaded it to Outlook. That way I can check my e-mail wherever I'm at. Receiving VT vmail is almost instantaneous with gmail. :)

I have personally submitted multiple tickets on this issue to Verizon, and each time they have written back with a generic "We're not blocking ViaTalk's SMTP servers" message.

Some other server admins and myself have looked into a possible issue on our end, and we have verified our emails are successfully being sent to Verizon users' email.

This one is further up the chain in Verizon's hierarchy - trouble with their email accounts are documented all over the web. Hopefully they figure it out one day.

In the meantime, I would go with sbradshaw's suggestion and sign up for a Gmail account. They give you about 2.5gb of space, and you can control the rest of your email accounts through its interface. It's also a great way to keep an archive of all of your voicemail if you have setup attachment forwarding in Voicemail Options. I've tried them all, and Gmail is definitely my favorite.
