This has been mentioned before on BBR...
DND would greatly benefit from an option for the caller to interrupt if it is an emergency. The caller would receive a message like "The caller you are trying to reach has activated do not disturb on their phone. Please press 1 or stay on the line to leave a voicemail. If this is an emergency and you want to force the call through, please press 9 now."

Now that is a great idea! :)

I can see how for safety reasons this would be useful, however it would have to be optional because the term 'emergency' carries a poorly described definition. If you don't know what I mean please consult your nearest teenager, hehe. I'll toss it on the list, thanks guys.

I would like this feature also.

One would just hope your callers wouldn't abuse that option though as it might just void the whole purpose of your DND setup. Creating a new drop-down choice for that feature along the lines of "Do Not Disturb Authenticate" might be pretty good for those that would want that running instead as a personal preference. It would be very similar to our current Anonymous Call Block Authenticate option.
Great ideas, keep them coming!

One other way to do this would be to include a whitelist of people who get the option to interrupt. Personally I trust my family/friends enough to use it judiciously, but I can certainly see the concern.
