Does ViaTalk support touch tones through the soft phones. I use SJPhone and found that when I tried to use it connect to a conference call where I need enter the conf code, our conf server did not recognize the touch tones. It kept telling me that it an invalid conf code.
Any ideas?
Kesara.

I had similar problems and it first surfaced when trying to retreive voice mail using XLite. I could dial numbers but once in a DTMF prompt activity I could not enter my password. I found it to be a problem with Xlite default configuration and not VT. I found the fix on another soft phone forum where you have to access the deeper admin programming for Xlite and make two changes. I will try to find this again and provide the link. You cannot make this change in the normal top level xlite configuration.

Hi, Kesara, I had the same issue. I found the answer on the ViaTalk website. Here is a link to configure the advanced settings. http://support.viatalk.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=145&nav=+%26gt%3B+%3Ca+href%3D%27index.php%3F_a%3Dknowledgebase%26_j%3Dsubcat%26_i%3D42%27%3EInstallatio n+Guides%2FTech%3C%2Fa%3E+%26gt%3B+%3Ca+href%3D%27index.php%3F_a%3Dknowledgebase%26_j%3Dsubcat%26_i% 3D52%27%3ESoftphone+Install%3C%2Fa%3E
Hope that helps.

Thanks Guys for the replies which pointed where to look. I am using SJPhone and figured that following enables tones.
Options > Profiles > Edit > DTMF >
And set "Send DTMF as" to "INFO method"
it works now!

Kesara,
Hi, can you point me towards something that will help me configuring SJPhone for ViaTalk?
Thanks.

Here are the steps in order to setup your Viatalk service for use with SJLabs' SJphone:
Right click on the phone and then choose 'Options'.
Then, in the 'Profiles' tab, click the 'New' button. Call the profile 'Viatalk', and choose 'Calls through SIP Proxy' under 'Profile Type'.
In the 'Profile Options' window, click the 'Sip Proxy' tab.
Under 'Proxy domain' enter: [server].vtnoc.net
Under the smaller box on the right of 'Proxy domain', enter 5060.
Under 'User domain' enter: [server].vtnoc.net
Leave 'Register with proxy' checked, and uncheck 'Proxy is strict outbound'.
Click 'OK' on this window. Back at the 'Options' window, highlight the new Profile and then click 'Initialize'.
The username is: (available in the Control Panel)
The password is: (available in the Control Panel)
Click 'OK' on the 'Initialize' window, then again on the 'Options' window. You should see something like this:
"SIP: registered as sip:YOURPHONENUMBER@[YOURSERVER].vtnoc.net"

Changing the DTMF to INFO (instead of AUTO) also worked for my regular phone (hooked into the PAP2T). Now I can access the voicemail. :)

I had the same problem with my Supra H/W. VT recommended setting DTMF to "inband". I did it and everything is working perfectly. Good luck
