I used to have two Verizon lines before I switched both lines to ViaTalk. I was able to have my lines configured so that line 1 would automatically roll over to line 2 if line 1 was busy. I believe this is also called call hunting. I would like to see ViaTalk supporting this option.

I had the same on my landline and it was called an EVO or Rollover. What would work with what VT already has would be "instant" call forwarding. Like Vonage has. The key is the "instant" not 5 seconds.

Not sure if this will work for you or not, but it works on my viatalk line. *90 followed by the 10 digit number you want it forwarded to when busy. *91 deactivates.

That might be a plan. Do you have Call Waiting "anything" turned off?

But then with the Vonage setting it allows for, what is needed here "instant". VT has 5 seconds, that's one ring, and I don't want it ringing on my end at all. I think that the DND might be the answer. I'll have to take a look.

But then I am looking at everything. We'll see what happens and what I come up with.

Everything is still turned on. Call waiting etc. When you set *90 it is instant. IF you are on the phone. If not it rings as normal.

A little clarity:

*72 is call forwarding (all calls)
*90 is Call forwarding (only if line is busy)
*92 is call forwarding (only if there is no answer or the line is busy)

If you dial *72 555-555-5555 and I call you, my call is instantly forward to 555-555-5555 regardless of whether you are on the phone or not.

If you dial *90 555-555-5555 and I call you, my call is instantly forward to 555-555-5555 if you are on the phone. If you are not on the phone your line will ring normally.

If you dial *92 555-555-5555 and I call you, my call is forward to 555-555-5555 after xx seconds, or instantly if you are on the phone. (xx is set in your CP)

These all work for me. Viatalk does not advertise them so I can only assume they are not available to everyone. Give them a try and test them to see if they work for you. Hope this helps and you can use it.

After all the time that I have been spending inside my PAP2T I have seen the page with all the active codes and have asked Tech Support for a *Code Chart and they said it would be a good idea if they had one. So many of these *codes are foreign or we don't know about. 44 of them.

How could you incorporate VoiceMail into this? With my Vonage service you could tell it to send to VM. The * way will just forward. The other if there is no pick up, it goes to VM, even if forwarded to an outside number.

Thanks for the for the info. I have seen it available, but haven't toyed with it yet.

*78 is Do Not Disturb. This will send all calls immediately to Voice mail. *79 deactivates.

Sounds like this might be what you're looking for. This would be the same as setting Vonage's VM to instant.

What I am really looking for and would be ideal is:

http://www.coastlinecreative.com/Vonage1.gif

Granted you set it for "instant" and it says 1 second, enough to light the lights on all my phones and click over the relay for my CID-on-TV.

But the point is, the basic concept of, I'm on the phone see the CWCID and don't want to answer and it forwards to VM after a set amount of time so that I have time to "politely" dump or put the first line on hold, then take line two or just let it go to VM.

The only problem is my "wonderful" (don't ever buy Uniden) phone system that when a call comes in on the other line it cuts out the line that you are on with every ring. I called Uniden right off and they said they'd get back to me. I never heard back and tried up to the 30 days that I could take the system back and the retailer says I had to get an authorization from Uniden, of which they don't do. Big mess with more . . . but . . . .

Any way VT people that are lurking about. Please take this as a feature suggestion/request?!
