I have had Via Talk for some months now, For last 5 days, phone does not work, no dial tone, no incoming calls, I have set incoming calls to forward to my cell, before I did that, I could listen to voice mail messages from web site. Using a linksys pap2 with firmware 3.1.9(LSc) tempted to upgrade. If I press **** on phone I do get voice promps fine, ex 110 does read back ipaddress. I have installed a packet capture utility on my pc and connected computer and pap2 to a hub. I see that there is a lot of SIP messages to and from my device sip:houston-1.vtnoc.net and sip:sanfrancisco-1.vtonc.net
some messages are notifies, registers & occasional binding. about every .5 seconds a message occurs.

I had one response from support a couple of days ago , which gave me log in info and had me make sure I put in my reg info properly into pap2, haven't hear back since. I tried calling a couple of hours ago, but went from 10th in line to 9th and then back to 10th (not sure how that happened) I am not a happy camper at the minute.
any suggestions? :(

This is just a suggestion that I've seen posted at www.dslreports.com
If you have your admin password for the PAP2, log in and turn provisioning off.
After that is done, change the server that you are connecting to to something like chicago-1.vtnoc.net (that's what I use).
I've also seen reports that removing the DNS enteries in your PAP2 has been fixing some users problems, so you might try that also.

See if doing the above two things fixes anything. If it doesn't, log back in and turn provisioning back on.
