I haven't found a decent site explaing the use of telnet, but I've learned a lot as I went along, and it shares some commands with DOS. if you have windows type start > run > telnet and that is the basic windows telnet.
You can go here and get puTTy (an SSH Telnet Client)

telnet is a terminal, on connecting to hostrocket , basically it lets you simulate yourself, and outputs the same thing as being at the computer that you connect to logged in as yourself. Originally conceived so that people could share the processes of a single computer externally.
For windows users , Imagine opening a ms-dos box. Maximize it. You can do lots of stuff cant you ? 'edit','dir','copy', etc etc ... well, now imagine you opened a program that connected to your program and showed you the exact same dos console and lets you type in and run whatever you could run from the computer. thats telnet.
Thanks!!
I understand a bit more.
I found the telnet in win and i will try it out.
