I personally use ViaTalk, switching from a land-line service. Interestingly enough, I was having some serious problems with my old land-line service.....what started happening was my home would get a call randomly at 2am...4am....6am. Just crazy times when sleep was supposed to be happening. These calls were actually fax calls, from a Canadian company randomly dialing US numbers trying to connect to faxes to advertise companies and collect money from doing so. Pretty sneaky, and very dishonest in my opinion. So we'd get this call at 3am, pick it up, and then BEEP. That's it. If we didn't pick it up, the answering machine would just get this BEEP for a minute on it, waking everyone up from the ringing to the answering machine going off. It was a horrible experience, went on for weeks and seemed like torture. We tried to call the telephone company and they said they couldn't do anything but "look" into it, they wouldn't even block the number for us! Luckily, once switched over to ViaTalk I immediately blocked this number and....happy ever since!!

I get calls from several Telemarketers all from the same company. They come in on different numbers (Same area code and Prefix) the one thing they have in common is the name "800 service ????????". Is there a way to block by name or Partial name (Wild card search %800 Service%). This would be a feature that no one else has.
That would be nice to have, and also even if you could block a certain area code, or areacode and prefix.

I use the wake up call or call reminder feature often. I travel frequently but when I am home I wake the kids for school. When I am on the road I can set the call wake up from my hotel room if I forget when I am home. The only problem I have had with this is my son got up to answer and then went back to bed.

Yes, the ability to block specific numbers from calling is nice.
However, don't forget the ability to set a "Do Not Disturb" time on the ViaTalk portal (it can do wonders for your sleep)! For example, I have my DND set to send all calls (except for a few key numbers belonging to family, which are allowed to call at any hour) directly to VM when the call comes in between 10:00pm and 7:30am...

The Custom Call Routing feature is awesome! Not only do I do blocking of certain numbers (mostly businesses that repeatedly call us, although we told them we are not interested), but I use the other custom call routing selections as well (I have used them all in different circumstances).
If I could throw out a suggestion for Custom Call Routing? I would like to see a little more integration between the different features. For example, I would like to be able to configure a number in Custom Call Routing to leverage the Call Hunt feature or Simultaneous Ring for a particular caller. Maybe VT could implement this along with the new CP they are developing? What you could do is allow users to configure Simultaneous Ring and Call Hunt with the appropriate numbers. Then have a disable/enable setting on those features. We know what would happen if you simply enabled either Simultaneous Ring or Call Hunt; it would apply to all callers. But if you had Simultaneous Ring or Call Hunt disabled, these features could be "enabled" in a sense (overriding the global setting) for a particular caller if you selected "Simultaneous Ring" or "Call Hunt" options in the Custom Call Routing feature for that caller. Does that make sense? That would be really nice IMO.

I do love the DND feature. Set it up for Wife today, so she could get a little rest while I was at work. For those numbers that I'm just not sure of, I send them directly to voice mail for the first time or two, then it's off to Stop Calling land!
As my wife loves to say, "Your call is not welcome here. Stop calling now."
