So, has anyone figured out the optimum settings for the SPA-2100 (or maybe the Sipura family)? At this point, I'm on the default settings with just the info that ViaTalk sent in the email when I signed up.

It seems to be working fine, except once when the party I called suddenly lost my voice. It worked fine when I called back, so maybe it was just a fluke.

I would like to know the best settings for this device too. I seem to get glitches in the service now and then and I'm thinking that this device is just not configured the best that it could be. I'm not even sure if failover works, etc.

If you find that you are having quality issues like a drop in audio, there can be several different causes. I would first suggest setting up Port Forwarding, or a DMZ, within your router setting precedence for the ATA.

In the ATA I would suggest adjusting your RTP Port Min and Max to 19384 - 19482, and your SIP Port to 5080. If you are still having trouble, feel free to contact support!

Newbie here...

What is an 'ATA'? I've got a linsys Wireless-G router and a linksys VOIP adapter from VT. What do I need to do to assign highest priority to my VT service?

Thanks!

ATA = Analog Telephone Adapter = your VoIP adapter provided from ViaTalk.

I just signed up for BYOD on VT. I've looked at several threads here in the forums hoping to get some help setting up one of my different Sipuras to optimally work with VT.

So far I seem to only find threads on the subject that have no resolution, or threads like this, where the "super moderator" only helps with a definition of a term and nothing else. Really, how about a bit more info here, please?

Perhaps going back to DSLreports (or Voxilla) is the better forum for peer group support, given what's been posted here by VT folks.

What SPECIFICALLY are you having problems with? Asking for the optimal settings is pointless. No one is going to sit down and write a guide telling you what to set each field in your device to. We are the ones in need of more info if we're going to help.

So are you having dropped audio, echo, no audio, ring problems, dialing issues,
choppy/broken audio. It would also help to know your network set up. (Brand/model router, modem, ISP, etc.)
