New affiliates will be unveiled with the launch of our new affiliate sofware shortly. Since many of you are anxious to get them now, I've uploaded some new banners here reflecting our exciting new Rocket Freedom offerings.
Feel free to use any of the banners here for promoting HostRocket.

Any reason why the affiliate site hasn't been updated with the new banners yet? Also, I'm a little unsure of how referrels are done - I have links that have my referrel name in them, then hostrocket.com/ is loaded. Is my referrel name now stored in a cookie or something? Basically, how do you guys know after a click if someone is coming from me?

Jennifer,
We're going to be unveiling new affiliate tracking sofware very shortly. Our designer is finishing up some final cosmetic changes for it and then it'll be live. That's why the other sofware wasn't been updated.
The tracking is cookie and IP based. When someone clicks on your referral link, the IP of the visitor is logged and a cookie is generated. Once they click through and order service, your affiliate account gets credit for the sale.

Ok, I don't really understand how cookies work yet - is the IP stored in the cookie? If so, what happens if the person is on, say, AOL and the IP is changing while they're surfing?

The IP wouldn't change in the same browsing session, but a cookie is independent of the IP and is just basically a small file stored on the user's computer. If you login to a site and have it "remember the login information", that info is stored in a cookie. This is the same concept. Does that make any sense?

So do you have an idea when they are going to be out? Thanks
