Is anyone runnning an icecast server on their dedicated server for live streaming of an mp3 feed?
If so, what has been your experience? Did it install on centos ok?
How fast was your bandwidth eaten up?
What was the bitrate of your stream and number of users?
Any info would be appreciated.

I personally have not used Icecast, however another option would be Shoutcast server "sc_serv", you can check it out on shoutcast.com. Sc_serv works well on CentOS servers

A follow up on this is that i have it running on my server now.
It works well, but haven't fully tested a live server load. I've played with it while 2 or 3 listeners are connected but that's it.

Did you setup shoutcast or icecast? Shoutcast was easy enough and their forums were not to helpful when it came to asking questions.

I'm using icecast2.
What is hostrocket's official policy on bandwidth for streaming?
