We've been having awful problems on this host since the weekend now, SSH and HTTP service seems fine but MySQL connections either aren't happening at all or taking an absolute age. It follows the same pattern each day, things run along just fine until the start of the core US day and then the problems start and last for 15 hours or so intermittently.
I've raised a ticket, after bouncing it around HR suggested we force TCP connections for mySQL and not use the UNIX domain socket, I've replied pointing out this isn't going to make any difference and that's the last I heard from them, the ticket's still open, my increasingly frantic mails over the last 48 hrs aren't even getting replies now. I'm beginning to wonder if they can even see the mail or the ticket being updated.
Are we suffering alone on host81? We're so far from the "guaranteed" uptime it's just a distant memory.
