Website Sponsor?

Hi,
I have a really new, original website and have tested everything out on my hostrocket account, and it works perfectly, now all I need is to register the domain and find a way of getting someone to sponsor the site hosting as I cannot afford it until it's up and running, because then it will pay for itself easily. If anyone knows if HR do any type of sponsoring, or anyone else for that matter, then I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me more about it.

By the way: it's not my Offspring site im talking about, its a new website that I'm just testing on my offspring sites servers.

I could give a demo url, but I want to be sure that no-one will steal my idea and/or domain b4 I have a chance to get it.

To be honest ... sponsorship is pretty tough these days. The web advertising market has pretty much collapsed.

I've run multiple domains and for several years they paid for themselves through sponsorships and advertising, but it's just not the case anymore.

It's not that traffic is down... hell traffic is up, but there is just no money out there. Unless you want to advertise porn :( And most just won't do that, including me.

I've been noticing the same with advertising lately, just on my one domain.

I was wondering if you or anyone else could give me some good info on how to cut out the middle man in advertising and run all advertising campaigns myself instead of through companies like fastclick.com

Um... Just exactly what do you want from someone else? It's only 10-13 dollars to have a monthly website (or less if you don't need everything you get here), and it's even cheaper to get a domain. Also, it's understandable that you don't want to let anyone steal your idea(s), however no venture capitalist will lend anyone money unless they can know a little more about the product or services that's going to be offered FIRST. What exactly do you need? If that's clarified, maybe we can work on the rest...

living in australia, the cost of hosting is doubled due to the poor performance of the australian dollar.
It would cost me over 100 dollars to setup an account, including domain name, and I just cant afford that as well as the 30 or so per month.

What i need is a sponsor to cover costs of hosting mainly. If you go to the url, you will see that I do need all the added extras that hostrocket offers.

I'm having a few problems with my server and am currently changing servers at the moment.
keep tryen myasl.theoffspring.com until it works.
The myasl site has a light blue background, so you know when it has worked.

yeah, that was due to moving hosts and not setting up the MyDQL users. It's all working now, along with the subdomain.
So please check it out and tell me what ya think about getting a sponsor.

But i noticed you added some nice features.

I'm working on site too and I also know that there is a problem for getting a sponsor. I will use a advertising bureau for my site. Maybe you should look out for something like that?? If you would do that be sure you make a kind of rapport of what the meaning is of your site, a goal etc and then go to your advertise bureau!

There is no demo available yet. I'm going to buy my webhosting here, i'm just waiting a little while. The site will be a dutch site, I forgot that :) For you there will be no problem to advertise on my site, just the othe way, foreign people doesn't have much at my site, damn !

Maybe we can look for some kind of translation of your site, so you an go international :)

sorry to laugh, but i cant believe you actually approve of that bullshit!
i get over 3000 unique visitors per day at one of my sites and after using popuptraffic for a few weeks, i made a total of 13 dollars, thats just bullshit.

allclicks makes me 3 dollars a day on my offspring site, www.theoffspring.com, but i need MUCH more than that.

i dont want suggestions for advertisers or such, 'sponsor' was the operative word!

Nice to hear that you are starting a new company. To tell you the truth I was and still are kinda in the same position you are- a new company with a new way of doing things and not enough capital to get it off the ground as quick as you like. Well either you have one of two things-time or money. If you dont have the money you better have the time. I have researched a bunch of free ways to advertise that really reach the public since i had alot of "Time" and found that most advertising doesnt need to cost alot if anything at all but you still have to pay for advertising in some way. My company GoldenHall Records is hosted here at Host Rocket as of yesterday (still waiting on the domain name to become active as a matter of fact) and I started last august and finally made it here. You must realize also that online money is great but dont forget about the offline world-there are millions there also! Well i dont know i just saw your post and saw there was someone that i related to so i figured i would drop a line. Stay in touch i love talking to fellow beginning entrepreneurs! Lets exchange Ideas!

There are many sites out there that will translate a whole webpage for fre in seconds. I used one to translate into Spanish, for a school report last month!

So that wont do the trick, and i want to make sure its all fluent, which needs personal attention.
