whats going on?
i have a messageboard set up, and when people try to register it comes up with the following text ::
There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.
An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.
We apologise for any inconvenience.
Anyone know how i can fix this?

Is it still happening? ICQ me if it is...it may be related to the VDI issues at hand...

Your probably right, DarkQizard. My MySql was down a little while today, because someone's script was messed up, and it messed up the system resources.
John took care of it though.

Why don't you reinstall vBulletin or ask John to check if your database is corrupt.
Did you upgrade to the latest version of vBulletin?

I found the problem in the database and was able to resolve it....everything is working now and I reactivated your forums....I also asked to drop the ticket...waiting on a reply...
There is no way you could get that message because of vdi and 99percents its not because of hostrocket, you probably just setup the script wrong.

Why do you insist that this message (although the problem was with a missing field) could not originate if there was a VDI issue? Do you know exactly what is going on at VDI to make this claim? Do you understand this mysql message? If you temporarly lose the connection to the database this message will popup since it couldn't complete a query....and btw...VDI was having issues with the dropping of IP's on their aggregate switch which was resolved (hopefully) early this morning with an updated IOS...

Well I agree with foe and think that it was a missing variable in the VBulletin forums that ff2k was setting up. [my opinion]I know that message very well, and if it was a VDI issue, the user wouldn't be able to access his/her website. But since they were able to access their website to get this message then it is a script issue. [/my opinion]

Well...it was a missing field in the database and not a variable in the script...and yes I have gotten this error when a query wasn't completed...because of an intermittent connection to the server.

I downloaded Vbulletin Lite, and it bites. There is like 1 feature, post. I don't want to pay for the real 160.00 one, do I use PHPBB. It's pretty good too.
Ill check out your website.
