1. Will we be able to use our own hardware?

2. Will we have SIP Access?

These are the two most important features to me.

Could you use hardware that was designed to be used with Vonage or any other VOIP service?

it would probably depend on the provider. i know some vonage adapters are locked into their service only.

I've been reading and doing some research on Asterisk the last couple of days... It looks very interesting! My guess is that it would be compatiable with it, since it is compatiable with most if not all voip services.
