How many of you plan to take advantage of our VoIP service offerings if the price is better than that of your current telephone service provider's and the service is as amazing as that of the hosting service that you have now?
Who's potentially on board with VT when we launch in May?

If you can make the whole "phone plan service/contract" experience less corporate and more personal, more trustworthy and less deceptive, less confusing and more customer-oriented.... I'd be willing to bet some people would even pay a little bit more to invest in a company and a business who they felt supported them rather than a Giant ready to wrangle them in hidden fees and drawn-out customer service battles.
The telephone industry has a collective reputation of a diseased rat and the social necessity of prescription eyewear. Best of luck ;-)

If it's not US only...

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with our offerings.
Will it work with Satellite internet?

What's the 911 service like? Or do you guys not have it? The major fault of VOIP right now I hear.

Every line should have enhanced 911 service. E911 provides address-specific information to public safety agencies whenever someone makes a 911 call, enabling first responders to be dispatched to the scene of an emergency.

Actually, every time you change your phone service to ANY carrier or move your location. The carrier MIGHT have a small chance of not getting the 911 to verify properly against your address. Yes, I say small.
The thought that it is just VoIP is just a media concentration that makes you think it is ONLY with them.
It is YOUR OWN responsibility to verify with your 911 call center AND your telephone carrier to make sure that everything is correct. Should be the first page of your local telephone book for the 911 non-emergency numbers.
With all this talk about 911, is it only going to be US based ? What about us in the UK ?

At least initially, the service will be US based. We may expand to other countries as time progresses.

When will you publish package and services/rate information?

Oh, and to answer the original question, no I will not be switching to VIOP. Qwest doesn't offer naked DSL and so I have to get a phone line to go with my DSL.

That should happen in the upcoming Month.

Well I would use it, but since I'm in the UK I can't. So are UK customers going to lose out just because we live in the UK, or are you going to offer the same special deals if/when you finally extend the service ?

No fool, stop thinking UK and focus Europe...
I'm definately interested in the service. Quick question, though... you state that memebers will receive 12 free months of service OR $100 off equipment. What equipment would be required for the service?

On most VoIP services, you need an adapter, so that your phone can plug into it and ring. Think of it as a router with a phone jack on it.

An adapter provided by us.
Let me calrify I did not state members would receive 12 months or free equipment. I stated every member would receive up to 12 months. The actual value of their coupon will be somewhere between 3 and 12 months or alternatively for free equipment.

What about availability of DIDs? I'm "on board" with VoIP, and even more so with VT's pricing. But I'm in boring old Oklahoma area code 405. It seems that lots of VoIP providers don't have 405 DIDs available. Also... will we be able to "bring own hardware"? Will we be able to use like a Linux Asterix PBX with SIP? That would be fantastic. Thanks!

Those are some good questions that I would like to know about also. And what are you guys planning to do with phone number and area codes?
