As you remember, a few months ago we launched a new in-house affiliate program at http://affiliates.hostrocket.com primarily because several users had expressed interest in a program managed by us instead of a third party.

Now that it's in place, how many of you on the forums have used it? What do you think about it?

I'm using it right now and I like it much better than the CJ method. Easy to create links, good banner choices, and an easy signup process. Thanks!

I used it in my old design (might do it again), but didn't got something from it.

So just to clarify, you just didn't have any sales. If you would have had a sale, the payout would have been fast and reliable.

ah, Ruben will get a sale soon through our affiliates program. I believe in him! Plus by putting our banners at the top of your webpages and believing in our service and recommending it to people who trust you via you forum or website could bring in a hefty recurring sum.

That's what I hate about affiliation programs...

When my site was not online (pending template) I got about 1200 clicks to a sponsor but NOT ONE order :|

eh, it happens. If something doesn't work you just gotta find anothe way to market it on your website, there's always a way, the hard part is finding out what works on your site as to what doesn't.

Google's Adsense program is nice. I've made about $67 in the past year from them..

Yep, that's a good way to do it. I have seen people make quite a bit when they use our affiliates program via Google Adsense or placing our banner on top of their website instead of at the bottom.

After getting it all set and running so people are buying and generating money for you, you can sit back and relax and watch the checks roll in. It's worth it, the hard work at the beginning, trying to market it on your site or newsletter and figuring out ways people could or will buy.

Once you discover what works for you, your good to go and then you can always buy that Hummer you've always wanted! :)

Question is: How much has HR paid out in Affiliation commissions?

What if a person bookmarks HR instead of spontaneously signing up through my button? Will I still get a commission from a bookmark?

Hummer you've always wanted! :)

I don't see how any city inhabitant can drive those without guilt

No, you will only get commision if the person who clicks the link accually goes through the process and fills out the order form.

Bookmarks don't count :)

As for an exact number as to how much we've paid out..

ALOT! is all i know

Are the payouts any better?
I have been with the CJ one for awhile now and have quite a few sales through it.

So I am kind of hesitant to jump ship.

I think it is $65/sale

Their ViaTalk commisions is $50/sale.

Errr...
My commission through CJ is much higher than that.

Guess I won't be moving..
