I just created a web site on HR. I have added a few pages. I am only using HTML. Is there something I need to do to have the web site show up in a google search?

If another site links to your site, Google will automatically find it and index it. However, if you feel that there's no way for Google to come across your site (no one linking to it), then there's a form: http://www.google.com/addurl/

You can also go to http://www.google.com/webmasters/ to get some information on how to improve your page ranking at Google. It has lots of information there.

You will also want to try to get listed with dmoz.org It is a directory that is actually edited by humans, so it takes time to get it reviewed and listed. If you have original content, it will get listed higher. Because of the human touch, it is supposed to help your rank on the other directories such as google.
