i got some problems here...if anyone can help, GREAT, if not, oh well...off i go to cry...

now, i'm a total n00b to this but i'm trying to install a bot on my forums. the instuctions say to "ChMod all folders and files to alice 777" (alice is the root directory for the bot (/forums/alice/))

i have no idea how to do this using phpmyadmin. can someone help me?

i'm using phpMyAdmin 2.5.6
and MySQL 4.0.18

You can't chmod using PHPMyAdmin, and what fool would give everyone FULL access? I would check your host and see what they say to set the permissions at; usually 755 (owner, user, guest). 7 is full access (read, write, execute); 5 is read and write access. Check out http://catcode.com/teachmod/ for more information.

To do chmod you will need to have shell access and do it from there or you can use a FTP software that allows you to do the chmod command. I would tell you more but it is beyond my knowledge on what else you can do. I have heard that you can give your script owner rights.
