I have a windows 2003 server where I have mysql 4, cygwin installed for ssh conections.
I have installed and configured cygwin, latest version at this time, I can successfully login via ssh.
When I try to login to mysql, with the right uname and password, mysql/cygwin hangs, I wait a few mins, nothing happens, I will do a show databases cmd, nothing, I will then do a invalid sql cmd and then it will show the show databases, along with a invalid SQL statement error, and then shuts down mysql.

WHen I try logining to mysql with a invalid unam and passowrd I get the appropriate login error right away.

DOes any one know what I am talking about?

Thanks

I never got mysql to work properly with cygwin. Although from dos shell it works fine.
