I hear that SCO (Coldra) is about to sue the linux destributers and users for using Unix copyrighted code in the 2.4 Kernel (yea, I know it is ironic that they are doing it, but they own Unix and they don't want their codes to be public)
what do you think will happen?

I personally think SCO is a company on the verge of extinction and they're trying anything and everything they can to 'scare' some money out of people. They've yet to actually show in the Linux source where their proprietary code is in there. Until then, I call BS.
I hope it is an end to all open source and that retarded GPL..or whatever it is....what a joke.

Its funny they didn't mention that Sun is in on it too----yea, sun did the same thing what Microsoft did, bught linence from SCO too.
I beleive SCO is going to go on and on with Microsoft and eventualy loose their Unix and Linux to Microsoft which is going to or try very hard to turn Linux into proprietary software. SCO is playing with hot soop and doesn't know it, or maybe they do, but think they can evade it somehow.
and SUN is hiding on the back burner, as if they don't know what is going on

SCO's claims are a bunch of bollocks with no substance (i.e. evidence), much like gish's point.
It's all just a scheme to extort money from Linux users.

It only seems like they are going after people who don't have money to fight them in court. They want people who will just pay the license instead of going to court over it. I guess that's why they aren't going after Apple for using Mac OSX.

It doesn't sound like you know what it is, so how are you able to define it as a joke? Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'what a joke'? Alot of powerful programs have come about from GPL. For example, PHP is open source, which runs this forum.

The whole SCO debacle is...well....just that! It's ridiculous. www.groklaw.com (.net?) and www.slashdot.org regularly have articles about SCO and their absurd declarations.
gish: I'm not even going to respond to your post, you're obviously a flamer.
Moving on, here's a ton of articles relating to SCO:

Inparticular this one:
http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/01/10/195216&mode=thread&tid=126&tid=130&tid=163&tid=185&tid=187&tid=190&tid=88 >> SCO wanting to take on Google? Hah.

Conspiracy theorists would say that Microsoft are behind SCO....who knows...
