Hiya, folks!

I've had the privilege of working for Coranex Networks (company that runs these communities) first as a Moderator, then later on as Community Director. Went through a lot of history, practically was involved in certain communities from the very beginning, was loyal to them during the reorganization processes and change in staff, bad and good times.... fell in love with them in other words.

I have never thought that being a Community Advisor would be as much fun, although it takes lots of responsibility and sense of reality with logic. I love being around people, helping them, advice and suggest, participate and start new discussions.

One of my primary roles is to make sure everyone is happy and that these wonderful professional resources remain to be unique communities with a heart and personal respect and integrity of its members. One of my jobs is to bring fairness to discussions. I usually do well on aforementioned issues.

Most importantly, as many of you, I hope to see this particular community grow into a place where industry amateurs could become professionals and where professionals could become leaders and an example to follow.

I just wanted to thank you for giving me a shot at it here. I hope to do well and get to know some of you better, too.

Best,
Artashes

Is the focus of CoderForums on professional/industry topics, then? In contrast to the other forums here, I think CF's participant base has a large (maybe majority?) proportion of people who program for enjoyment. Of course, it is possible for these viewpoints to coexist, but forum directions/policies planned "from above" by people with a viewpoint skewed towards profit-making could make the forum less attractive to the main audience.

Thanks for the comment, Smerdyakov. Don't worry, all staffers of the company have enough knowledge about all forum subjects to keep it as most interesting to its users as possible.

I also understand that a good portion of users here code for their own fun, which also means that they are doing something they love, improving themselves every day, by being the part of the network dedicating to serving ideas and shaping their skills. That is why they are a big part of this community!

All right.

I don't mean to be rude, but why does CoderForums need a "community director"?

Heheh.. you're not rude. :D

Community Director does not stop at his Moderating Duries, but is also responsible and takes part in strategic and marketing decision making, growth opportunities, internal affairs like staffing, etc.

Basically, there are lots of small details of it, including some research, competition analysis, all that comes with this job.

Hope this gives you a close idea. 8)
