First draft of my essay is due in 2 hours. Just spent 4 hours this morning writing it on my other computer. I went to get some taco bell came home and it had stopped responding, somehow. I overcame my rage to smash the computer and throw it out into the street. Is there ANY WAY I can recover it? sldkfjalksdflkjasklflkjasdjlkfsalkjasfdljkasfdljkaslkjfljkjsldf8ouwae9857@$(!(&@#$(&*!@($*8913523

If you close Word (Ctrl-Alt-Del, reboot computer, etc.), won't it ask if you want to recover your last work?

Did you get to recover your work?
The only solution I can think of is what GnuVince said.

Good luck!

If you are using word XP, I am not sure about 2000, but it shoudl ask you to recover. If not, the file will be saved in the temp folder with a weird file name...check by date......This reply is a little late I am sure but did you get to recover it?

but one question....you didn't save it before going out of the house?

Did you honestly not save the document anytime in the four hours you worked on it? Seems you'd know better using Windows.....
