They seek to eventually replace Matlab. Nice feature, you can put C code in your Lisp code [screenshot (http://lush.sourceforge.net/images/screendumps/helptool01.png)].

Wow ! Impressive looking piece of software.

For number crunching, there are other powerful softwares like :

GNU Octave (nearly Matlab compatible, no graphics),
Yorick (simple C like syntax, very fast interpreted language),
and, best of all, INRIA's SciLab.
