Hey guys. I have a problem with two computers where I work, and I cannot fix the problem. The thing is: two computers running Windows XP cannot print multiple copies of documents in Word 2000. They can print multiple documents in Abiword or in Internet Explorer, but not Word 2000.
Now, I've tried updating everything: applied Service packs to both XP and Word, downloaded all the small patches for Office. That still doesn't work. I read in the Microsoft Knowledge Base that it could be the printer drivers, but machines running Windows 98 can print multiple copies with Word 2000. We tried upgrading the drivers, but the problem still persists.
The MKB lists printers that seem to be a problem, so I tried printing on a printer NOT listed there (Lexmark Optra E322), and I could not print multiple copies of a document.
So, would any of the Windows/Office guru care to explain me how to fix this problem? I had a not so bad opinion of Windows XP until this week where it's causing me more and more headaches!
Here are some other problems I have with Windows XP:
- Word Perfect 7 users (not power users, normal users) cannot paste text from Internet Explorer and can't use the spell checking facilities
- PrintArtist won't install on XP
I think I'm gonna install Win98 again! Or better, I'm gonna buy Macs!!!
