View Full Version : Virtual Party

It was my birthday on Wednesday. But I've been in 7 hour meetings at work all week so I havn't had time to post much.
In any case, there's chips and dip on the table. Lots of food out by the pool and plenty of beer and softdrinks in the 'fridge. I think it's time for a virtual party. (Those of you from LNO may remember some of our virtual parties).
Let's see who shows up for the party!
<hint to obvious next question> Wednesday was August 7th. I'm 2 weeks older than Hawaii. From that you could figure out what year I was born and thus, how old I am </hint to obvious next question>
/me hears the doorbell ring. I wonder who it is?
Hey! Happy Birthday! Mine is sunday. Mine if I just grab a corona? Where's the lime? I'm gonna put the new Wilco CD on if that's okay... :D
Mmmm. birthday cake...

Hey Buddy! Good to see you.
Yep, there's coronas in the fridge and more out in the coolers on the back deck. There should be limes by the food.
Wilco? Let's check it out.
/me wonders if GnuVince will bring his guitar?

Happay Birthday! Your gift is my song and this one's for you!
And you can tell everybody, this is your song!
It may be quite simple but, now that it's done!
I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, that I put down in words....
How wonderful life is, while you're in the world!

Nafea! Thank you!
GnuVince. My Great grandfather was Quebecqois. But I barely speak the language. Teach me some Quebec songs and I'll teach you Jaahyvaismenuetti (Farewell Waltz in Finnish).
Tequila Bang Bang?? That sounds interesting/dangerous. I've done battle with Tequilla many times. And I'm STILL Standing whereas many tequilla bottles have gone on to their demise.
Ha! Tequilla cannot harm me! :mexican:

Inkedmn! It's good to see you again. Did you bring that beautiful wife of yours?
Oh Cool! Who brought the Jello Shooters?
Inkedmn. Once Coalesce is done pop these tunes on the player

Interesting, What is "La bitt a tibi" in English?
The 'bitt' of 'tibi' ??
Wow, this song has about 5 totally different sections/feels to it. Cool!

There's a region in quebec called "Abitibi", so "La bitt à tibi" is kind of a deformation of that word. Literally, "La bitt à Tibi" means "Tibi's dick" :)
Edit: Oh, and a couple of hundred drunk people singing the "Oh oh oh oh!" part just kicks ass!

Happy B-day!
I bought you a new iMac and signed you up for an AOL dial-up account.........woops, party foul! ;)

Gufmn! Thanks for the iMac. The AOL account didn't cost you anything so I can throw it away without being rude right?
Hmmm. I wonder if I can dual boot Linux and OS X on this puppy.
[ Oooooh, Nice flat screen]
Hey, Could someone go tell Inkedmn to stop doing cannonballs into the pool? He's splashing water on the sushi platters.
/me puts some Chemical Brothers on the CD player.
(I wonder when the band is going to get here?)

Strike! Welcome.
The sushi platter is over there on that bed of dry ice (That's why Inkedmn keeps splashing it. It makes cool looking fog)
Thanks for the . . . uh . . . pre-grunged mouse. ;)

I still find it amazing that you're as old as hawaii...
Dru Lee Parsec
08-10-2002, 12:05 PM
Older than Hawaii AS A STATE!. I'm not umpteen millenium old. ;)
It's strange to thing that when I was born the flag had only 48 stars on it. Of course, I don't remember that. It's always had 50 stars since I was in school.

I always thought the american flag was butt ugly. I hope that doesn't offend anyone.

There are better flags around, yes. But I think you would prefer seeing the american flag more than my butt, no? :plot:

Hehe, at least the US flag has some symbolic meaning for all the things on it. Canadian maple leaf? The US has maple trees too. ;)

Sh*t!......damn inkdmn!......he told me this was a toga party!
/me goes to the car to look for a jacket.
Dru Lee Parsec
08-12-2002, 12:43 PM
Well, It "could" be a toga party. And if we could get any women to show up then maybe a toga party would be a good idea.
Have we really been partying for 3 days? If so then I'd stay away from the sushi.
But Tequilla will sterilize anything so go for it!

Bradmont: didn't we have this discussion via irc already? Anyway.. the whole flag thing, I just realized, is pretty good symbolism of american capitalist elitist democracy vs. canadian socialism... Sure, some tart screwing the prez to convince him to use her flag isn't great, but it's the American way. And is a 60 freakin' year debate over a flag (for crying out loud!) something to be proud of? Well, I guess so if you're canadian.
:D
Anyway, we're talking about National Flags here.. nationalism is brainwashing at it's finest. And dru's party isn't the place for this kind of debate.
/me grabs an ice cold corona, squeeze two slices of lime down its long neck, turns it over to let that citrus magic do its work, slowly turns it back so as not to incite mass foamage of the alcohol, plops himself down on a lawnchair and enjoys the beautiful summer.

Now THAT is the best idea I've heard today.
