I have had my account since 7/25/01, and every year I get a bill for $20 along with the bill for the 6 month plan. This year when I payed the bill it wasn't on there, but I didn't notice.
I didn't notice because this year I decided to switch to the two year plan. I made the payment for $238.80 on 9/1/04 for the two year plan, and on 9/2/04 I notice my website is down, here is the responce to the trouble ticket I send:
The problem here is limited to your registration of the domain name static2k.com. I hate to be the bearer of bad news however your domain expired some time back and has recently passed into a special 30 day RedemptionPeriod status from which extraction is costly (in addition to the regular $20.00 domain registration charge the global registry imposes a $150.00 administrative fee to redeem domains which have slipped into the RedemptionPeriod)...
...however despite our best efforts the domain
expired on 7/27 and passed into the RedemptionPeriod
status on 9/2.
I thought I had payed the bill for the host service and domain name like in the past, but I guess I only had payed for the hosting service and the domain was not included on the bill? Either way, the domain name went into "redemtionperiod" the day after I payed.
Did I mess up? How was I supposed to go about paying for the domain name if it wasn't on my bill?
I'm at a loss of what to do because I cannot afford the $170 to get my site back up, and I will be taking a great loss from my site being down any longer. Any advice?
Thanks in advance, Jason.
