My vbulletin was hacked a few days ago. http://www.auralmoon.com/forum. I wrote a trouble ticket to support to help me fix it. No response for a day. Luckily, I have a backup of the database.
Then, I found the solution on my own - phpmyadmin cannot restore large databases, so I need access to the shell to do it from there.
I had my shell access enabled a few months ago - but it had been disabled again somehow. So, I ask in the trouble ticket for them to enable it for me. No response. I post more "What's going on here" repsonses in the trouble ticket. After several of these, someone finally in the trouble ticket says "provide this verification information - what will you be using the shell for?"
Wow. Haven't they been reading this ticket at all? So, I provide the verification informaiton. Silence ensues. The next day, I get another message "provide verification please" What is going on here?
This is insane. If this is customer support, I'm Jimmy Hoffa. This is an emergency - hacked site. No responses to trouble tickets - the few responses I get ask for verification multiple times without reading the rest of the ticket. wow.
And all this comes on the heels of my site being wrongly suspended out of the blue cause they thought I was streaming audio from it. Oops! Little mistake there.
I've been here over 3 years, and I think this is it.
