Could we have a recent JDK installed, or is there a reason why HR doesnt want this?

I would love to have JDK with Servlet and JSP here. Is there any reason that not many hosts support these?

Thats why you use Tomcat to handle all servlet requests freeing your http server...

I have to agree with JHillman. Using tomcat to handle servlet/JSP requests would free the http server.
On a related note it's kind of funny that this post cropped up today I just asked HR about servlet support and if they would add it in sometime. They said "there is no plan to add them soon". But we can keep asking and hoping :)

I mean within a few weeks, someone elses in this business may be one or two months.

it is not my decision to make and you'll have to wait to see what John and Brendan say.

Hopefully it'll be good news for you guys!
