I would like to terminate my account with hostrocket, and while one thinks I should easily be able to do so from my domain's control panel, I'm having problems figuring out where to begin.

Any advice?

This would need to be resolved by logging into your support account and submiting a ticket to them. Or calling.

From your account page or from http://hostrocket.com/support/ select Billing Questions and then Cancelling Your Account and complete the next page and it will be taken care of.

I recently canceled all 4 of my accounts without any problems although I am still waiting for the credit to show up on my credit card. :)

Why did you cancel all 4 of your accounts? Leaving? You are somewhat of an asset to these boards!

I have found a reseller account with a different host that lets me do a lot of things that HR won't. Like hosting several sites on one account and the ability to allocate my total space and bandwidth over several sites as I think best.

The thing that got me looking was my main business site was suspended a few weeks ago for a script that had been running for at least two years without a good explanation about why it was OK for so long and then one day not OK. In addition, my site was restored in fairly short order but my email was down for a couple of days. This seemed punitive and unnecessary to me so I started looking around.

I may stop by here from time to time but I have removed the shortcut from my desktop so it will only be when I think about it or if I get a thread reply notice.

HR has grown a lot in the several years I have been with them but so have I (in part due to the interaction of this board) and several things all came together to make this a good time to move.

Before you go, if there would be anything that HostRocket could do to keep you as a customer, why not ask them for it? As you know from being around the boards, Timothy Dick has said time and time again that he's willing to do anything it takes to retain you as a customer. Maybe they'd be willing to rewrite some scripts for resellers like yourself...? His email is timothy@hostrocket.com

What do you have to lose?

What do you have to lose? Thank you for the suggestion. The problem is I am already gone. :) As good as HR's support is the support at my new host seems ever better and even faster. They also have a support board and while there is not as much customer-to-customer support (as most of it comes from the hosting staff) there is some and it looks good.

My concern about trying to stay with HR is that I have seen posts here in the past where someone's site was down for an extended period of time and they were getting no response from HR. That sounds bad when you see the post but you figure there is HR's side of the story and it won't happen you you. When it happened to me (and my email was still down after my site was restored) I decided that once was enough and have moved along.

While my WEB site is important for advertising my services my email is critical to my business and having it down for several days without a reason was intolerable.
