I don't use these things but someone I know is. He use Frontpage 2000(?) to upload his page with the build in FP counter (FPcount). It displays but doesn't increment.
I created a new page with just the counter by hand and it did the same thing, checked permissions, and made sure the "counter" file exists in _private.
Then I used FP 2003 to create the simple page. I got the error that some extention services weren't installed (sorry, don't have the exact error but you get the point). I have verified that his site has FP Extentions turned on.
Now, my guess is that the required files to implement this counter haven't been installed on the server but I'd like to be sure.
Sure, I could just install one of the many other non-M$ counters like in PHP or perl, but I'd still like to know why this might not be working (other than the fact this server is Apache/Linux instead of IIS/Windows.).
