I just purchased hosting for www.j3helmets.com, because I had alot of downtime and bad experience w/ our old host.

First I talked to someone on chat to confirm.
Question I asked was: i'ld like the $9.95 hosting plan. Is there any additional fees? "no, except a $29.99 setup fee" Most hosts have free setup, but ok. i'm paying for excellent service. I think the second 12:00 everyone left the building, cause I can't seem to get any help.

I bought hosting just like he said for i yr at $9.95 month plus $29.99 setup. which would be 149.39
So why was my card charged $197.35?

I did found it weird when i was checking out and i didn't see a total.

I did my reseach and thought i found a great host. I'm having second thoughts.

I also signed up using the office email, so the setup directions were sent there, I'ld like there directions fwd'd to my email please so i can setup asap (after all that's what i paid the $29.99 fee for) (which most other hosts don't charge for.

I'ld like to get this setup and finished asap, and the billing error fixed. it's 12:37am est.

Thanks

The $9.95 plan is for 24 months.

The 12 month plan is $11.95 per month plus $29.95 setup. $173.35?)

Regardless, this is customer-to-customer help and we can't solve billing questions for you.

Submit a trouble ticket from http://hostrocket.com/support/ and while there is someone at HR 24/7 I don't think they only deal with billing questions during US east coast business hours.

Submit a separate trouble ticket about the welcome email. If they respond they will probably ask for credit card info to verify who you are.

Ya they definatly billed our card $197.35

And after reading more posts on their own website forum, I think i will call tomarrow, and get a refund. I guess I acted too soon.

and 24/7 it's been an hour and still no responses.

Perhaps i'll stay w/ our old host or perhaps a new one. But our old host seemed way better.

Maybe i'm not givin a chance but when you read so many negative post on a forum on your own website, that's not good.

After all we're running a bussiness and we can't afford all this run around.

Just saying it as I precieve it and experienced it.

The fees are deceptive. Plus the guy on chat i talked to told me $9.95/month for a year + $29.95 setup. Wanna see a copy of the convo.

If this was the case, i'ld prob be a happy camper and be on our way. But the second midnight hit, the left the chat, and no help for me.

Submit a TT at www.hostrocket.com/support

If they don't answer your question in a couple hours, you can always post the TT numbers on the board here, and if someone from HR happens to stop by and read this, they will look up the TT numbers, and see why they are not answered.

It says all over on the pages what the different prices are based on how many months you pay for.

They do offer a 14 day money back guarantee, so you can get your money back (although I am not sure if they give you the setup fee back or not).

I can tell you that there are by far more happy customers then unhappy ones. Yes, they have had some problems, and one server did lose all the data on it, but that is why they tell you to keep your own backups. They are human, just like you and me, and stuff does happen, but they are a very good host. I've never had any problems with them.
