Does anyone have any new canon printers (like the i860 or i960)?
Is there a difference in photo quality between the 6 color and the 5 color ink system?

I'm happier with the 6 olor inks. But I really couldn't tell you why. They feel like they have moe depth, but it's not something I could point to if asked. So the difference is there, but it's subtle.

Yea I went to Future shop today and the sales guy told me the greens and big areas of color are better (no spots).

But I guess that sort of quality won't show depending on the type of photos and your camera.

Yes, colors would be better with a 6 color system.

Well a little out on left field, but i was cleaning the garage, and I stumbled into my old printer for my pre-historic 286.... It takes the paper in reams with the perforated tabs on the side, so you had to line up the paper with the tracks in the printer, and it would feed it through. Thank christ for More's law.... can you imagine changing the color carts. for something like that if it was to do photos :D

(ps: totally off the topic:p )

Those old printers were noisy! Good for printing out text, but not much else.

That's true, I forgot about those. If you like black-and-white banners. You saw one of those and you immediately thought "Cheap party" or "Geekfest." ;)

I thought of 20 10 year olds and a dis-colored Apple ][e and reams of Tax payers dollars making Banners that said things like "hi" and "Welcome to 1'st Grade" :D
