Your account was using over 25 apache web server processes.
How could this occur?

A forum with too many users on it, a script that got into a loop or something, etc.

What do you have on your account?

Not really anything just some forums and such...the only scripts i have are one that auto optimizes my mysql databases, and some other ones like tell a friend, a shop, forums, user authentication, but thats rarely used...

Just for curiosity, could you post when this situation is resolved? I see so many people who seem to have trouble getting their account un-suspended or unable to fix the problem, i'd like to see if they actually do let people fix the problem and reopen their site without upgrading.

I discovered that my crontab somehow got into a loop and ran 25 times, so i just deleted it...

ya, i just called support, and graham fixed it for me, Thank graham:D

p.s. Mine was very small, unlike some others that had REALLY big problems like 500 apache process at a time, i had 25 and it was my first time, i really was kinda worried i didn't know what was going on...

Yeah - that's often the case. A cron job or script accidentally gets into a loop. Make sure to check those! :)

We are working on refining our account suspension policies to better streamline the process so that the problems get resolved quicker and with less downtime. Once we have the new policy set I will have it posted on our forums within a day.

From what I hear, it would be nice if when you guys suspend accounts, you should still allow them to have access to the CP so that they can atleast get backups and possibly fix the problem.

Also, I think it would be nice if the user could create an index page, so that no matter what page a person tried to view on their site, they got transfered to that page, so that the user could put something up that says "Site is currently down, please check back later." instead of "Account suspended, please contact support."

Wow, when you guys shut down a site, you don't pull any punches. I can't even log in as an admin to investigate.

Trouble ticket on the way.

BTW an 'account suspended' error page would be helpful...

If you aren't getting an "account suspended" page then most likely your account isn't suspended. Send us a ticket and we'll be happy to check it for you.

It's back online now. On the admin page it says
"Host59 is currently being worked on.", so I guess it was shut down for a while (?)

Never mind... :-)
