PHP Admin

I just installed the free phpbb from hostrocket. I can get into the admin control panel via the hostrocket control panel, but i cant get myself to be administrator in the forums. Should I upgrade the forums anyways? I really cant figure this out.

When you first install phpBB you get to 'create' the first user (which ends up being the admin) - its completely seperate from the HostRocket cPanel.

If I were you, I'd just skip the stupid thing in the control panel and go intall phpBB yourself. It's not that hard and you're be more familiar with phpBB that way. ;)

Well I'm going to have to agree with Viper on this one. If you want something done right you have to do it yourself. This way you make sure the accounts and all parts of the script are working fine. Also if you run into errors phpbb.com's forums are a lot better suited for your needs because 90% of the people who post on those forums use phpBB and may have run into the same problems.

Alright, but how would i delete my old forums? I deleted the xmlin the MySQL.

After you go into 'Bulliten Boards' in your control panel there should be an option somewhere to remove a board.

If not just FTP in and delete the folder, and database.

Or if you don't feel right deleting folders and databases you might be able to send in a Trouble Ticket asking for help.
