Hi...

I have initiated the transfer process for my domain to the new servers/CP I have some questions though.

1. When I filled out the 'signup form' The only plan option that I had was your basic one (Economy) but I am signed up under the Executive Plan...did it downgrade my account?

2. I have changed the DNS Information to the two new servers but still it is pointing to the old server...it has been several days now...how long?

3. I was just charged my monthly payment for my account. If I change now I will only get a few days worth for a monthly payment unless it is switched over...

4. I sent the 'Transfer Initiated' Ticket...was I supposed to put anything in the body? all I did was send a blank ticket with Transfer Intitiated as the subject.

5. I don't understand to I send in the Transfer Completed when my site is pointing to my new IP Address and showing the Default Under Construction home page?

Please Help me...I want to get this done as soon as possible

I can't help you with everything but...

After you activate your new account, then you need to send a Transfer Initiated ticket so they know to charge back your CC right after it is charged, that way you won't be paying for two months at the same time.

You are supposed to keep your existing DNS settings as is until you get your files moved to the new servers. Then when you have everything moved you can set your DNS settings to point to the new servers.

After your DNS servers go through and you're pretty sure other DNS computers have switched over, then you send a Transfer Complete ticket so they know they can delete your old account from Alabanza's servers.

Do you have to specifically send a ticket named 'transfer initiated'? I sent a ticket saying they could shutdown my account, but it's still up...

Hi,

When you have finished your transfer, send in a ticket called "transfer completed" so we know to remove your old account.

Called exactly that? I sent in a ticket about that a while ago!

It makes it alot easier to keep track of everything if things are uniform.. hundreds and hundreds of these tickets are going through, so they get jumbled if they arent organized.

So I should send a new one called TRANSFER INITIATED?

Hi,

If your site is loading off the new server successfully and you no longer need the old account, send in a "transfer completed" ticket.

Yes it is. I sent in a transfer initiated ticket, but not called specifically that. Should I send in a new one.

FYI... I spoke with a Network Solutions Rep today, to inquire about moving my dns settings for another site of mine.. and he told me that they are running upto a week behind.. so be brave my friends.. they will transfer us one day :-)

Ouch, what a bummer.
That is why we do not like Network Solutions!
