Does anyone do any 3D work here?
If so what program do you use and where/ how did you learn?

I'm sure there are newer and fancier programs, but I use Harvard Graphics 3D for my site. Very easy to learn, once you figure out the basic tools doing 3D work is not too hard. :)

What's the link to your site?
Is the program expensive?

Yea, it's pretty hard to explore in that program.

At least I know how to use the material editor somewhat.

Metawu, just curious, but what are you using it for?

If for example you were just looking to do some low poly game models, Max is really overkill, you could probably easily get away with somethign like Milkshape, which is a much easier learning curve.

On the other hand, if you're looking for something to put on your resume, it's definitely worthwhile to take the time to teach yourself how to use something like Max.

Mainly for art. But since I'm studying industrial design, now I'm interested in engineering programs that we use like Solid Works.

Now that you mentioned it, here are some things I made in 3D Max for my portfolio to get into the program and a wallpaper. As you can see they're only simple shapes and modifiers.

Sorry if they're too big.
