Just wanted to know what everybody thinks about my site at:
metaeffect.com (http://www.metaeffect.com)
I'm kinda in a creative slump right now and need some good ideas and good criticism.

Looks good. I love the header. It seems like I see things like that a lot, but it still works. The left side is nice, but the nav might be a bit small. Maybe that's just my bad eyes. I do think the balance is off a bit since the right side is so empty. But it looks like the flow might be better once the center area fills up with text.

Wow. Just dug into the gallery. That meta3 wallpaper is fantastic. I'd love to hear more about how you created that.

I love the left side but the right side looks a little out of place..
Wicked. Also the 'news' looks a bit off. Needs some more bold and some edges maybe.

Yea, the style seems to be a bit overdone these days.
The right is a little empty but there was supposed to be more stuff in it, same with the center. As you can see the last post was in september. :P
Damn school leaves me with no time and motivation to do anything.

Ah. Well I could always use a graphics guy like you around. ;) if you're ever bored let me know. I need some work done on shoutlast.com.. a lot.. of work
Anyways - a few other people sitting around me also love your header. Nicely done.

When I have the time sure. However I do have to charge some money.
Tuition for university isn't cheap, especially when you lose the scholarship. oops :P

It looks good. I just think a better font would do the header more justice.
I just have a thing for that style of font, which I personally think ruins great designs.
Nice work though.

Yes, and the tagline...
It could be bigger.
There is about 2-3 inches on the right side of my screen where nothing is there, and everything is crammed to the left side.

Err, don't mean to be harsh, but I think your design is, well, boring.
The navigation bar on the left is too small. I hate having to strain to see what the links are to.
Your fonts in general could be bigger.
I really like your graphics. Nice job on those. You could use more of them or more like them.
I think you could also make it a little clearer on your home page what the site is for.
Overall, I think it is a cool site with a sharp look.

here are some past versions:
http://wu.metaeffect.com/01/layouts1.jpg
The new one is small and "boring" but it was my first site in flash (the html was done by a friend) and I didn't want it to be very heavy on file size.
I'm kinda experimenting with 'clean' design.
And right now the site is more of a portfolio site but still far from done.
Here's another little thing I'm working on:
http://wu.metaeffect.com/wu.html
This one is completely done by me. Flash is pretty tough. Especially for n00b :P
The intro/entry thing is pretty ugly right now. As I said I'm still working on it.

Maybe in the summer when my study term is done. :)
I mainly like to do graphics only though (logos, redesigning existing graphics on a site, ads/banners etc). Website design takes a long time to plan and make and usually isn't worth the money for me. Depends. :P

Well there wouldn't be all that much work required for my site - but we're working on a few brochure designs soon and may need some help!
(investors at the moment are the life of the company)
Wouldn't be too much work involved - and I can spread your name from one end of the earth to the other if you'd like. :)

That would be great. :D But I really shouldn't get into it during my studies because my projects (currently studying industrial design) takes a lot of time and sleepless nights.

Ahh! yeah thats quite the major. I was interested in getting into it for a bit and then seen my residence advisors workload and all the designing she was doing..

The wallpaper is really neat, and the tutorials have short, not-overwhelming information in them.
