I have read all the posts related to my problem and still don't know whats wrong. I have even pasted code that were given as examples of simple forms (substituting my domain + recipient)that could be used to test out formmail to no avail. I keep getting "Sorry I can't send to realremixes.com. Is realremixes.com on this server ?"

I am pasting the code for my form. Somebody...anybody...please help!!

"Sorry I can't send to realremixes.com. Is realremixes.com on this server?"

Hi. There's nothing wrong with your form (at least nothing which would be expected to result in that error, this is something which would be expected only if the email address in the recipient field were not a valid domain on that particular HostRocket server).

This would appear to be a problem on HR's end. If your site happens to be located on host45 be aware that HR has had some problems with host45 and is moving users on host45 to other servers, if this applies to you it's very possible that the move alone will address this error. If it doesn't you have at least two options:

- you can submit a trouble ticket reporting the problem to HostRocket in an effort to see if they can fix the problem with the preloaded FormMail script in cgi-sys, or
- you can upload your own local copy of FormMail.pl to the cgi-bin folder on your account and use that instead of HR's copy in cgi-sys

Also be aware that there is at least one minor flaw in your form which you'll likely want to address. When I tested your form the emailed output I received is as follows:

firstname: Don
radiobutton: radiobutton
redirect: http://www.realremixes.com/formredirect.html
songs: R. Kelly - Step In The Name Of Love
submit: Submit
textfield: don@yadda.com
wherefrom: USA

As you can see the "radiobutton" response doesn't inform you of the user's opinion (Hot, OK or Garbage) as you clearly intend. Note that with multiple choice selections you want to make the values of the choices reflect the actual choices.

Try changing:

<input type="radio" name="radiobutton" value="radiobutton" checked>Hot
<input type="radio" name="radiobutton" value="radiobutton">OK
<input type="radio" name="radiobutton" value="radiobutton">Garbage

...to this:

<input type="radio" name="opinion" value="Hot" checked>Hot
<input type="radio" name="opinion" value="OK">OK
<input type="radio" name="opinion" value="Garbage">Garbage

...or if you prefer something like this:

<input type="radio" name="opinion" value="loves it" checked>Hot
<input type="radio" name="opinion" value="likes it">OK
<input type="radio" name="opinion" value="hates it">Garbage

The above should result in responses along the line of "opinion: Garbage" or "opinion: hates it" rather than the nonresponsive "radiobutton: radiobutton".

Best wishes
Don

Can anyone explain why emails submitted from the website via formmail contain the html codes '"' and ''' instead of " and '.
