File limit ?

Hi,

Does someone know if there is any limit in the number of files one can have on an account? I ask because my previous hosting service had such a limit, and when a site was over, it went down. My site is several thousands of files and I want to be sure I won't have that kind of problem before I start to upload them :)

I don't think it matters as long as your site doesn't exceed the space and transfer limits, even then I don't think they shut you down, but charge you extra. My site has at the momemt about 3,200 files in aout 250 folders. I'm only using about 15MB.

It doesn't matter how many files you have. Just as long as you don't exceed your monthly transfer allowance or your MB limit.

I think many hosts (apparently not yours) show the file limit as an estimate of how many files you can fit on your server. It is based on the average size of a web page and whatever other factors. I have an unquantified number of files les than 1 KB and I don't even worry about it.
