View Full Version : V1.92 Glitch
I'm having a problem with the newly installed FormMail upgrade and I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem. The problem involves the use of numbers in e-mail addresses of those who fill out my forms (i.e. putting their e-mail address in a box in the form field, not the 'recipients' variable of the form script).
The problem is that address with two numbers at the end of them are never received. For instance;
I've tried using test99@test.com in the form field.
It doesn't work
But test9@test.com will work
test9test9@test.com will work
even test99test9@test.com will work
but test99@test.com won't work. E-mail addresses with two numbers at the end of the address are never received.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Does this warrant a job-ticket request to Support?
Thanks for your time,
Rixx

"Is anyone else having this problem?"
It doesn't seem so...I have a simple feedback form (comments and email addy fields only) using v1.92 and when I just ran a test using test99@test.com in the email field the form output came through normally:
Below is the result of your feedback form. It was submitted by

When you say "E-mail addresses with two numbers at the end of the address are never received" are you saying that you receive the email with the form output however the email field is blank (it says "submitted by on [date @ time]") or that when a *##@* addy is entered in the email field you never receive the form output via email at all? Is email a required field in this form?

No, I am talking about the form data. I receive the HTML the form generates showing the form data via browser "Thank you for submitting, etc.," but I never recieve the form data via e-mail.

Yes, it is. All other e-mail addresses seem to work, its just those with two numbers in the end of the e-mail address (test99@test.com) I do not receive any form output by e-mail. I never get the mail at all.
This is occuring on more than one of the forms on my site.
My form has a form field requiring a valid e-mail address. This is the e-mail address I am talking about.
Earlier today I received data through the form with an AOL address using numerals in the address as mentioned above (user99@aol.com).
But I went ahead and downloaded a fresh copy of the script and re-installed it, then I tested it putting test99@test.com into the form's e-mail field and thought my problems were over when I recieved the mail.
Then I tried test99@yahoo.com and retest99@yahoo.com and did not receive either one of them.
I have since tried test99@msn.com, test99@aol.com, test99@anything.com, test99@google.com, test99@anywhere.com and got them all.
Then I tried test99@yahoo.com and didn't get it. Why would a fresh out of the ZIP script only be blocking yahoo addresses? The only thing I changed in it was the referrer valuable.
If someone has any idea of an answer to this perplexity, please let me know.
