(This is all XMB forum related)

Basically what happened is I tried using Dreamweavers FTP client instead of my usual CuteFTP, well I guess I instructed Dreamweaver to move the files to my local drive instead of copy. So now I come in today and realize that 90% of my directories under the root are gone.

Okay so I am under the assumption that my DB is under the directory all the other forum crap was, and I am hoping I can just upload it from my local drive and all will be restored.

Is this an accurate assumuption?

I keep getting this feeling that the DB are invisable to me and therefore might have been missed in the move (I did not manually select anything) and if it was missed and the directory is gone I would assume it to be gone forever as well.

Gosh I gotta learn more faster but oh well :o

TIA
Collin

Oh yeah its also nice that HR still thinks all the stuff is there so I can't even upload half of it until they have fixed my disk usage quota. Wassup with that? It appears to be working fine today as I am weighing what files are more important then others but I guess it overlooked the 200 megs that were removed last night. ARG hopefully they will respond to that quickly so I can start kicking more files up and find out the answer to the first question myself.

Do you not use phpMyAdmin to administer your DB's?

The database content isn't in the public_html directory and can't be touched by an ftp client. As the other poster said, use phpMyAdmin, via the control panel, to check on your databases. Any files Dreamweaver's ftp function removed it should be able to put back where they were (although I use WS_FTP rather than Dreamweaver when I have a lot of files to move, because it's faster).

Yup thanks guys, and I found out where the rest of the crap was too.

All is well, thanks again.

I have been playing with MYphpAdmin but I don't yet have the understanding to do much.
