I wonder about my site stats on http://www.stjosef.at/stats/usage_200207.html
I am sure that the hits and unique visitors are much higher than documented on the scale.
Is it true that the logfiles are very often deleted by HostRocket in order to save webspace? What can I do to get a better statistical analysis for my web-site?

Interesting problems with the stats. I have a ticket in on it now. My problem is that on one site it logs NO traffic between 2230 and 0930 the following day. On another site it does not log any search information, words or phrases.
Very inconsistant. I was once told to use the raw logs but I verified that the raw logs have the same data inconsistantcies. We could embed cgi in our web pages but that is brutal on the servers.
Put in a ticket and tell me how you come out.

Now I got the following answer from HostRocket support:
Hi,
When the partition on the server gets full we need to
clear the log files so they are removed occasionally. If
you would like, I could setup your logs to be stored in
your home directory. However, you will need to setup your
own stats analyzing software if this is done.

I seem a little helpless for I don't know how to setup "own stats analyzing software" ...
