Mailing Lists

I've noticed the new mailing lists in the new mailsystem.

They seem to work.

Is there an instruction manual somewhere on how to set up archives, trailer msgs, etc...

Yup, instructions for trailers would be good.
Also, a feature to add a reply-to header would be nice.

I've been looking for an automated way
to initialize my mailing lists from my old list data, and also a way to add to a mailing list from a CGI script.

I see that I can automate adding addresses
by writing a script to send subscribe emails. Realizing that eases some of my
pain about this transition.

Another thing to try, as I've done, is set up a list...call it whatever you want, like "test@yourdomain.com"

Add your email address as a subscriber and moderator, and turn on whatever features you want. Play with all of them, 'cause some don't seem to do what I thought they would.

Then you can send an email to:

test-help@yourdomain.com

which will give you information on how to send commands to the list. Using this method, I've also found that you can send a note to test-edit@yourdomain.com and this will give you a list of editable text files, and instructions on how to edit them. (You can set up FAQ and Info files, etc.)
